Dr. Ayse Kaya-Goktepe is a founder of Endulus Counseling. She is a Clinical Psychologist and holds an M.A. in Clinical Psychology and Ph.D. in Psychology of Religion. She is a member of International Islamic Psychology Association (IAIP).
​
Her academic research area focuses on music psychology, music therapy, music & social identity, music & religion, spiritual values in counseling, Islamic psychology, and art therapies. She is a student of Prof. Dr. Oruc Guvenc -who is the founder of TUMATA- in music therapy and in addition to her academic training, she has gone to the different institutions and studied privately with a number of Musicians about Turkish Classical Music throughout the Turkey. She can play nay & qanun, and she played in several concerts. In addition to her PhD thesis about the religious music therapy, she publishes on these topics in books and journal articles and gives presentations, and is invited to public speaking engagements at universities and organizations around the world. She has been working as an academician at different universities in Turkey since 2013.

Dr. Ayse has over 10 years’ experience as a clinical psychologist working with individuals, couples and youth in a variety of settings. Her experience with many different styles and methods of therapy enable her to offer a well-rounded, versatile approach to psychotherapy. She uses an integrative approach in her practice, which means that she combines different techniques to cater to the unique needs of each client. She got Islamic Counseling education from Prof. Dr. Malik Bedri at International Islamic Psychology Association (IAIP). She is trained in different methods of therapy include; Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Gottmans’ Method of Couple Therapy, and Psychodrama. Dr. Ayse’s clinical expertise is centered on working together with each client to improve mental well-being and daily life experiences.

TITLE: MUSIC THERAPY: FROM TRADITION TO THE FUTURE
Basically, it aims to present a perspective about the past and current situation of the traditional music therapy in Turkey. It covers the brief history of the music therapy, the application methods of traditional music therapy, Edirne Åžifahanesi museum which is one of the examples of the traditional healing centers in Turkey, and the use of music therapy in present. It also covers several Turkish case studies of music therapy within the perspective of women’s health.
